These are the three units required through Standard 7 of the
Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) which you will need
to complete from the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
(TAA40104) to become a qualified Workplace Assessor:
- TAAASS401C: Plan and Organise Assessment
- TAAASS402C: Assess Competence
- TAAASS404B: Participate in Assessment Validation
Through our Workplace Assessor course Corelink also gives you
the opportunity to complete the fourth assessment unit as a complimentary
upgrade:
- TAAASS403B: Develop Assessment Tools
This is an oportunity for you to further your skills and knowledge
beyond the minimum standard.
Learning Strategies
People who do this course will learn how to:
- Conduct an on-the-job assessment
- Modify an assessment tool
- Write an assessment plan
- Make assessment decisions
- Document assessment outcomes
- Write a report on the effectiveness of assessment tools with
recommendations on how to improve them
These learning outcomes are achieved by a combination of:
- Computer based learning
- Experiential learning
- Workbook activities
How can this be taught onsite at my organisation?
Onsite training is tailored to suit your organisation. You can
have a maximum of 14 people in your very own workshop for a low

How is assessment conducted?
For these three units, the student needs to submit for assessment:
- Three assessments under observation where the student must
be directly observed conducting assessments by a qualified,
experienced assessor
- Supporting documentation for the above project
- Answers to Underpinning Knowledge Questions
Students' knowledge will also be monitored by their Coach
Time Frames
The qualification is extensively more detailed and robust that
the previous qualification. The face-to-face course cannot be
delivered in less than 4 days with pre-work. We anticipate a part-time
coached distance Training Plan would take from between four to
six weeks to complete. Some students may wish to take longer.
We set a maximum time frame of six months.
