There's no point in starting a course that you are unlikely to finish. Your Corelink coach will work with you to design a Learning Plan that suits you.
About your Coach: Corelink coaches are very experienced and are selected
on the basis of the following personal and professional criteria, they:
- Currently work in industry as reputable and established trainers
- Personally hold the new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Have a sincere desire to coach and support people to achieve their goals
You will be personally inducted into Corelink by your coach. This way, you will completely understand Corelink’s website, learning tools and assessment processes. You won't have any questions unanswered and you will feel comfortable and supported.
How is assessment conducted?
Between workshops participants collect evidence, complete assessment activities and compile a protfolio of evidence that demonstrates competence in the above units.
The 14 Units of competency in this qualification have been organised into an off-the-job training program which follows a thematic problem solving approach to learning. The program is non-Enterprise specific and uses general workplace training and assessment system policies, procedures, and templates. Competency in all or any units will be assessed over a period of time, in a range of contexts, and on multiple occasions involving a combination of direct, indirect and supplementary forms of evidence. During Face to Face hours, assessment methods will include observation, questioning, and collecting completed documentation and underpinning knowledge questions. During self directed learning hours assessment methods may include third party reports by qualified Supervisors, and completed documentation. The units have been integrated for delivery, and assessed holistically to simulate work tasks rather than competency units.
Note: Candidates for this qualification should hold a workplace skill that can be taught to others in the workplace. If you are not currently employed, you need to speak to a Corelink representative regarding this course. In order to complete the course you will need to arrange workplace training and assessment sessions.
Depending upon your Personal Learning Agreement, for each unit you may submit some of the following for assessment:
- Supervisor's Checklist (verifying your work)
- Team Member's Checklist (supporting your work)
- A video of yourself
- A Workplace Project (proving your skills and knowledge)
- Answers to Underpinning Knowledge Questions
Your general subject knowledge will also be monitored by your coach
As you complete your tasks, you send them to your coach. Your coach will determine when you are ready to receive your qualification. You can work as quickly or as slowly as you like, depending on your job and your lifestyle.
