What to look out for
Think about this…
- Where
do you prefer to place your attention?
- Internally:
with your own ideas, thoughts and impressions.
- Externally:
on other people, events, activities and things.
- How
do you prefer to gather information?
- Sensing:
you look for evidence of proven data and past experiences
- Intuition:
you look for patterns, future possibilities and hidden
meanings
- How
do you prefer to make decisions?
- Thinking:
you use logic and you base decisions on principles,
goals and logical analysis
- Feeling:
you weigh your personal values to make decisions and
you decide what is most important for people
- What
kind of lifestyle do you lead?
- Judging:
you prefer to be planned and organised, seeking closure
- Perceiving:
You prefer to be spontaneous and flexible, ready to
explore new options
The benefits for
individuals
Imagine you have
chosen all of the ‘A’ options (above),
and your partner or work colleague has chosen all the ‘B’ options … you
could be in for some interesting times! Understanding your
own Myers-Briggs Psychological Type:
- Helps you to understand and accept yourself
- Helps you to understand and accept others
- Facilitates communication
- Help you to respect each person’s unique contribution
- Enhances work team effectiveness
- Helps you to understand
why we get along with some people more easily than others
The benefits for teams
Team members can use type preferences to better understand themselves
and how each team member individually functions. Team members
will be able to understand their teammates and the contributions
they make to the team. Understanding your type can also benefit
in the following areas: relationship counselling, career choice,

How is my assessment conducted?
We know that you'll want to discuss your results with an accredited
Myers-Briggs consultant. So, after you enrol, you will be sent
a question and answer sheet that you can complete in your own
time and space. We recommend a relaxed environment away from
your desk.
Return your sheets to Corelink and a consultant will contact you
within 7 days to discuss your results and suggest strategies for
your particular type. This is where we can discuss causes of stress,
your career, your communication styles and relationship matters.
Ongoing coaching can be a result and more information on this
service is available from your consultant.
Duration
Answering the questions takes about half an hour. Your results
will take up to 7 days and your consultation will be conducted
over the telephone.
